As of the beginning of 2025, the musical couple Hila Ofek (harp) and Andre Tsirlin (saxophone) have given themselves a new name: Duo Duor. The name combines the word “duo” with אור (or), the Hebrew term for “light”. In Hebrew, or does not only stand for physical light, but also for knowledge, clarity and hope – a meaning that is reflected in the music of the duo. With their music, the two musicians seek to bring light into the world and touch the audience with their unique sonority. Duo Duor is one of today's most exciting contemporary chamber music ensembles. With performances at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg and at international festivals, it has made a name for itself worldwide.
